they needed a guitarist so they had auditions
sonny auditioned
they weren't looking for a singer, but they really loved sonny's voice; it fit their music. so he became the singer.
sonny really did have a good voice, but he totally took over "heroine" and didn't let the band have a say in it, basically. i'm really glad he went off on his own. he didn't belong in the band after i heard the true story.
