Florence & The Machine – Blinding lyrics

Seems that I have been held, in some dreaming state
A tourist in the waking world, never quite awake
No kiss, no gentle word could wake me from this slumber
Until I realised that it was you who held me under

Felt it in my fists, in my feet, in the hollows of my eyelids
Shaking through my skull, through my spine and down through my ribs

No more dreaming of the dead as if death itself was undone
No more calling like a crow for a boy, for a body in the garden
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love with the wrong world

And I could hear the thunder and see the lightning crack
And all around the world was waking, I never could go back
'Cause all the walls of dreaming, they were torn wide open
It finally it seemed that the spell was broken

And all my bones began to shake, my eyes flew open
And all my bones began to shake, my eyes flew open

No more dreaming of the dead as if death itself was undone
No more calling like a crow for a boy, for a body in the garden
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love with the wrong world

Snow White's stitching up the circuitboard
Someone's slipping through the hidden door
Snow White's stitching up your circuitboard

No more dreaming of the dead as if death itself was undone
No more calling like a crow for a boy, for a body in the garden
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love with the wrong world

Snow White's stitching up the circuitboard
Someone's slipping through the hidden door
Snow White's stitching up your circuitboard
Someone's slipping through the hidden door

This song is about a girl who is living still living in time in which her loved one lived. She is living in her dream world in which her love is not dead. But suddenly she starts to face the truth that he is gone and not coming back. The walls of dreaming are torn wide open, meaning reality is finally hitting her once more. She faces that her lover is not longer in the real world, but in her dreams. And when "snow white is stitching up the circuit board" it means that mind is coming back into place and she can finally think clearly, but she still dreams of the one she loves, and he will never leave her hence why it says "someones slipping through the hidden door"
One of my favorite songs and favorite bands. This song is truly amazing.

I think this song is about a girl who is in love with someone, and for a long time she is "in a dreaming state" and thinks the world is perfect. Then something goes wrong with her and her lovers' relationship, and "the spell was broken. " this man, who "held her under," now doesn't love her, or something, and she feels frustrated at the world. There is "no more dreaming like a girl so in love with the wrong world. "

I thought it was about the state someone gets into in an abusive relationship, where their mind gets so twisted around by their abuser that they are no longer perceiving reality correctly. I got this from the lines "until i realised that it was you who held me under" and "no more dreaming like a girl, so in love, so in love with the wrong one".
It also kind of reminds me of the his dark material series, in the book where lyra is kidnapped by her mom who keeps her in a coma state which lets lyra into the world of the dead where she can reunite with her friend.

For me, this song is about her doubting or even giving up her belief in love. Someone broke her heart, which in turn shattered the illusion of love and fairytales. The 'spell' is broken and she no longer dreams about prince charming like a young girl. I listen to this song when I'm feeling bitter about someone in my life who ruined the fantasy of love for me. Pretty much, she's done believing in the cliche love stories and happy endings. All I really know is that I love this song.

Although I do not know the exact, word for word meaning, I feel I can make a pretty accurate assumption.
It's probably about being in love with someone you don't truly know, and the song explains the process people go through when they finally come to realize the true nature of that person.
I also think blinding is open to metaphoric meanings that could apply to anything. Like coming to realizing that the world/people are not perfect or more profound meanings, like depression and overcoming it.
