Fame Musical – I Still Believe In Me lyrics

I am the least confident person I know and, like coco, doris, montgomery (pr paul seems to have disappeared sadly!) and the others, I am trying to reach my dream of being a writer. I have had various works published, but I do get a lot of rejections, and I have a hell of a lot of people telling me to give up. But why? I've come so close so often that it's only a matter of time - this song encourages me to believe in my dreams and never give up. When they say, "i'll find an unbreakable heart to help me get through this part," I couldn't agree more. Of course there's no heart that won't break but the song advocates developing a thick skin and trying again even when it would appear all is lost because I can learn from mistakes, do all that it takes, to make it eventually. The harder I work and face my fears, the greater the chance of success is. I love the lines, "oh how i wish, i just didn't care at all. Cos when you don't care, you don't cry, it won't hurt if you don't try ... " that really reaches me because I've had experience of going through the motions and now I can see the difference. My writing means everything to me and I am making it - so I have to keep up the hard work - I can't stop now because I've come too far. You can all reach your dreams as long as they are sensible ones - a person with learning disabilities is unlikely to become a brain surgeon, but that doesn't mean there are not hundreds of other jobs they could do. You have to plan according to your strengths.
