Runaway, runaway
Breathe this in
The water's wait, water's wait
Wide awake, wide awake
Breathe this in
The water's wait, water's wait
Asking if you are
[2x] Erased, everything within you will feel
Erased now [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/f/falling_up/contact.html ]
Everyday, everyday
Houses full of no escape, no escape
Runaway, runaway
It starts to pull
He's in this place, in this place
To question who you are
[2x] Erased, everything within you will feel
Erased now
[2x] Who am I?
Now Who am I?
I will fade
[2x] Erased, everything within you will feel
Erased now
[2x] Who am I?
Everything within you will feel
Now Who am I?
Everything within you will feel
I read an interpretation of the meaning "falling up"
It stated that falling is a natural occurance that cannot be stopped by human intervention. It is caused by forces (like gravity) beyond human control.
Up is interpreted as a literal direction but also thought to imply aspects of a positive nature, improvement, advancement or happiness.
As a result, falling up is interpreted by this individual as a spontaneous, uncontrollable improvement of oneself or situation.
In my interpretation, this song is about the meeting point/encounter/contact when that uncontrollable force (god), causes you and/or your situation to automatically begin to rise, improve, be-come, to "be", become alive again.
It is impossible for a light that manifests in a dark room to fail to cause its surroundings to become illuminated. In this song, the contact point is the moment when the light touches and changes your image. You are now seen, illuminated, present, alive and in essence "found".
And everything within you will "feel". And all that "was" is now erased. The darkness has been erased at the point of contact when the light touches you. As quickly as the light travels, so too are you changed when you encounter god.
