Steve0827 - the only part of this song that is taken from baba o'riley is one chord progression used by the rhythm guitar and bass. I'm sure fall out boy isn't the only band to write a song using this progression. The who probably wasn't even the first to use it. If artists wrote songs with 100% original scores, there wouldn't be anymore new music. You've cited 24 seconds that fall out boy has taken from the who. What's next? Are you going to tell us how they shouldn't have stolen the name thriller from michael jackson? Did you know that aerosmith has a guitarist named joe? I bet fall out boy stole that idea too. Man, i guess they've lost it. They can't even write an album without stealing from classic rock bands and recycling old lyrics. It's a shame that they wrote an album with 13 new tracks and they had to steal 24 seconds of it from the who.

Anyway, i love this song. The sample of baba o'riley really adds to the power of the intro and verses. I saw fob live in maryland a week ago and they opened with this song. It's even better to see it live.

Wow.. I just.. God. I love the chorus of this song so much. I listen to it so loud it makes my ears ring. I will never get tired of this song. Its addicting. :) i have the chorus written everywhere.

Steve0827 -- i'm left to wonder if you've ever even heard baba o'riley. Fall out boy copied nothing. The drum beat is sort of similar, but it's definitely not the same thing.

On topic with the song, this is pretty amazing. I didn't know the lyrics before, and some of these are wrong, but they're still really awesome. It's a memorable opener, to be sure.

No matter how much i love fall out boy, they can not get away with stealing part of the background for baba o'riley by the who. And for all those who don't know who the who are, they are a classic rock band from the 60's. It is obvious that they took the background and put it in the song from :32-:56. I'm kind of sad about this.

At the concert, pete says this song is centered around his mate's philosophy (detox just to retox), if you stay drunk will you get a permanent hangover? Based aroudn a phone call about staying drunk and othe crazy things

Yes. I'm sooo agreeing! Pete ha the most amazing lyrics. During an interview with ap he said that he tried to write this album from all the band members p. O. V so i'm guessing that this song was written about joe and his recent engagement. I think pete is trying to convey the message of joe may not be to sure about the engagement yet his fiance completes him. And i think that he is promising the fiance anything for him to experience this part of his life again, maybe he had a former relationship that didnt turn out so well? Idk

Mie fav part of the song was how it started out so soft... An patrick hits the right notes to make it sound so sweet... Its like my theme song... An just the lyrics r so kewl... Dont kno how pete does it... :. )
