He's standing alone with his gun in his hand
Wondering why he's the man with the gun in his hand
Brother of mine please don't take this choice
Drop the gun and follow my voice

Refrain:
Ooh oh oh ooh
Ooh oh oh ooh

Is it just enough for you to breathe?
I'm begging
Is it not enough to just have me?
Whoa

He's standing alone with the gun in his hand
Why am I the man, why am I the man?
Brother of mine take this away
I'm sick of this life of pain

Refrain

Is it just enough for you to breathe?
I'm begging
Is it not enough to just have me?
Whoa
Is it just enough for you to be?
I'm trying
To be the person that you need
Please don't pull the

He's dead on the floor with his gun in his hand
Why was he the man, why was he the man?

Is it just enough for you to breathe?
I'm begging
Is it not enough to be just me
Whoa

Is it just enough for you to breathe?
I'm begging
Is it not enough to just have me?
Whoa
Is it just enough for you to be?
I'm trying
And where I go you will follow

I could be about his brother or close friend committing suicide, but I believe it's about the writer committing suicide. I think it's about his internal struggle. Like he's arguing with himself, trying to convince himself not to pull the trigger. It's a argument between the two different sides of himself, his lighter side vs. his darker side. He wants to just be comfortable being himself but a part of him finds himself despicable, I suppose. The line "Was it not enough to be just me?" and "Why am I the man?' led me to look between the lines further. His darker side won out in the end because he committed suicide.

This song is about a man or boy trying to tell his brother how much he loves him and how much he means in an effort to coax him out of killing himself and failing.

I like it to hear christofer's sweet "never shout never voice" when he sings the part of 'is it just enough for you to breath'. I think it makes this song a little bit magical and different... :)

It mainly means that he doesn't want his close mate to commit and to try to find the good in life.
