When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

When I was young, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows, day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome, will I be rich
I tell them tenderly.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

It also means that the sadly forgotten Doris Day was from a world less hurried, more infused with hope for a fond future and a level of kindness and good manners and general social etiquette now long dead and with her loss along with many others of her genre and era we have lost s little something with their passing. She was also later known to be a survivor of a very violent domestic relationship and I always found her funny and apparently a genuinely sweetheart of a person. In her later I helped trim her lawn and hedges and she was a caring kindhearted lady I will always remember.

Doris and Rock Hudson (no "Rear End of a Hudson" jokes please) made several lighthearted and funny movies that I still remember well cause the humor was not so eclectic or esoteric and even a kid could see the humor in them.

Au Revoir and we love ya Doris you freckled little strawberry blonde vixen you.
Ps Dot. Don't let your son hang around with weird songwriters who have a following gaggle of rebellious teenager hippie chicks like Charles Manson the 1st and only.

My mother used to sing this song to me as a child and spin me round and round. Now whenever I'm feeling lonely, sad or unsure of my direction in life I sing it to myself and it gives me reassurance that everything will be okay, and what will be will just be. Take the good and the bad and live life.
