Dio – Man On The Silver Mountain lyrics
I'm a wheel, I'm a wheel,
I can roll, I can feel
(And) You can't stop me turning

'cause I'm the sun, I'm the sun,
I can move, I can run,
But you'll never stop me burning

Come down with fire
Lift my spirit higher
Someone's screaming my name
Come and make me holy again

I'm the man on the silver mountain
I'm the man on the silver mountain

I'm the day, I'm the day,
I can show you the way
And look, I'm right beside you

I'm the night, I'm the night,
I'm the dark in the light
With eyes that see inside you

Come down with fire
Lift my spirit higher
Someone's screaming my name
Come and make me holy again

I'm the man on the silver mountain
I'm the man on the silver mountain

Come down with fire
Lift my spirit higher
Someone's screaming my name
Come and make me holy again

I'm the man on the silver mountain
I'm the man on the silver mountain

Well, I can help you, you know I can,
I'm the man on the silver mountain
I'm the man on the silver mountain

Just look at me and listen
I'm the man, the man, here go my hand
I'm the man on the silver mountain

Come down with fire
Lift my spirit higher
I'm the man on the mountain
I'm the man on the silver mountain

Silver is a sign for purity and mountain of it is most pure. A wheel turning has momentum and can only be stopped by force equal to or greater than and he can see no forces to compare.
He is the light because he has out shines all others and his Brilliance is from within so therefore cannot be extinguished.
The voice calling his name is unfamiliar and cannot be ignored.
To make him holy again is to be reinstated into some group or organization that he previously belonged.
Being the dark in the light refers to standing out no matter day or night. His difference is always noticeable.
Being right beside you and seeing inside refers to having the same ideas and principles and not being able to hide your ambiguity from him. He knows who you are.
If you willing to take his hand, he can help you.
    He owns the Silver Mountain!

Silver is a cleanser, or biblical meaning of redemption. Mountain a high place. The man on the silver mountain is separate from others. Holy means separate, to be separate for someone or for a cause. Someone is calling ronnie. His discription sounds like the lord jesus christ. After all he is the only one that can see inside the soul, and he is the only way to true holiness, which ronnie wants to be holy. Come down with fire also speaks of cleansing. Yet ronnie glorifies not jesus christ in his life or lyrics but the devil. Ronnie I believe has a twisted view on god and the devil. Just as albert pike believed that god was bad and lucifer was good. So I believe ronnie is praying for the devil to cleanse him, which is an impossiblity, since truthfully the devil is the father of evil not good. The devil is the great deceiver and leads men to hell not heaven.

I have always thought of this about power and magic, as a warlock or wizard, speaking to everyone and the gods about his will and power. That no matter what others do or say they can't contain him or control him. But the song is also about how we all want to be free and do what we want to do. I feel the song is about personal power, that he was saying I will reach my goals, live my life and no matter what you do you won't be able to stop me.

I'm a wheel. This is speaking of the rotation of our planet and souloursystem. You can't stop me turning is speaking in direct defiance against manknind who seeks to rock the human race. (you know like a rock that doesn't move or to be a rock and not to roll like the wheel) I can run is talking about the soulrsystems attempt to escape its own fate apparently caused by man (caused by man is from other songs he wrote) come down with fire lift my spirit higher is pointing to a new evolution that will separate humans into human beings and mankind. I'm the day, way right beside is talking about the 12 or 6 archetypes of jung we all possess and this is how we speak to the 'gods' or planets or the man on the silver mountain. The man is alluding to the mountain of lies designed to hide our inner light which is a real physical phenomena notable below the light spectrum. Very gnostic in origin. Anyone else out there accessing?

The song to me is about passion, Love, strength, immovable forces that are undeniable and guide us, sometimes without us knowing.
I'm a wheel I can roll I can feel and you'll never stop me turning is about finding strength and will to continue on through heartache and pain.
I'm the sun I can move I can run and you'll never stop me burning is about finding your fire and passion. Things that drive us.
Come down with fire lift my spirit higher someone's screaming my name come and make me holy again is about finding passion and love after heartache/loss.
I'm the day is about seeing things clearer than before and knowing the direction needed.
And look I'm right beside you is showing the path to/leading someone who is lost.
I'm the night I'm the dark and the light with eyes that see inside you is about bravery and looking past your demons.

    My meaning is:
the song is a prayer a conversation beween a human soul and god - god explains/reveals/describes himself
and the human soul (whoever) asks him to " come down and to lift his spirit higer and make him holy again - revers to a sentence in moses where god commands - I am holy and so shall you be - someone obviously asking for a close relationship to god - a very touching song.

RJD was a very smart guy. He probably never intended to write/sing deep lyrics. He did it anyway, perhaps unknowingly. Man On The Silver Mnt, seems to me like a fictional story of a god-like character who guides man. RJD's songs reflect many ideas of evil, God, man's struggles and the occult. This dabbles in all of these.

My version. First two paragraphs. Talking about how the "man" which I the corrupt federal government and central banks can't hold him down or stop him.
Chorus. Asking god to make him strong and pure against the tainted or corrupt.
Second verses. He knows the truth about central banks, corruption, evil. And truth has more power over corruption.
I'm the man on the silver mountain. I'm the man that has truth and god on my side to face the evil for when it comes.
    Thank you.
