Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can't you understand
Oh my little girl
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/d/depeche_mode/enjoy_the_silence.html ]
Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
Love, in the purest form. When nothing needs to be said. Just two people looking into each others eyes and seeing eternity.

A person who talks to much gets themselves into trouble. Sometimes it's not about the amount of words, but the right ones. So, when you love someone, it's just about the actions and motives that you focus on, not the words. The words can be transparent or if spoken too much they can harm. True love--when love ventures to this point of being declared true--needs no words. The only thing that becomes important is having that person in your arms.
Many believe this song is about the lead singers addiction to heroin, and the lyrics "all i ever wanted, all i ever needed is here in my arms. " is a refrence to shooting up heroin in his arms. But in actuallity the lead singer to depeche mode never wrote this song. A song writer named martin gore actually wrote the lyrics to it, who normally wrote songs about the darkside of love. So it is most likely a real deal love song and not david gahan's addiction.
