I am confident, but I still have my moments
Baby, that's just me
I'm not a supermodel, I still eat McDonald's
Baby, that's just me
Well, some may say I need to be afraid
Of losing everything, because of where I
Had my start and where I made my name
Well, everything's the same in the La La Land machine
Machine, machine
Who said I can't wear my Converse with my dress?
Well baby, that's just me
Who said I can't be single and have to go out and mingle
Baby, that's not me, no, no [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/d/demi_lovato/la_la_land.html ]
Well, some may say I need to be afraid
Of losing everything, because of where I
Had my start and where I made my name
Well, everything's the same in the La La Land
Tell me do you feel the way I feel
'Cause nothing else is real in the La La Land appeal
Well, some may say I need to be afraid
Of losing everything, because of where I
Had my start and where I made my name
Well, everything's the same in the La La Land machine
Well, I'm not gonna change in the La La Land machine
I will stay the same in the La La Land
Machine, machine, machine
I won't change anything in my life
(I won't change anything in my life)
I'm staying myself tonight
(I'm staying myself tonight)
This song means that even though she is famous now, she doesn't want anything in her life to change. She doesn't want to become one of those spoiled celebrities. She wants to be famous and be herself at the same time.
I love this song! And i think its just saying that a lot people think she is a total diva and supermodel becuz she is 'famous' but she isnt, she still is her plain old self, and she doesnt care what other people think about her.

She's not saying she eats at mcdonald's. She's saying she eats at bridles. You can even see it in the way she sings the song. Sound out both words and then watch the segment again, saying bridles and then saying mcdonald's to that part of the song. See how both of your mouths move. If you still don't believe me, try singing the song with her, testing to see if the words match vocally and with the timing of the song.

She is talking about being herself, and not giving into the pressures of "hollywood" doing what she wants not what they want. When she says "machine" she is talking about the hollywood model how it starts and celebrities do everything their told and then the process starts over again with a new celebrity!

I think the song's about being yourself, not living your life based on the question "how will this look in the magazines? " i also think the line "everything's the same in the la la land machine" refers to autotuning. All in all, a great song. Lovato's come a long way since camp rock
