When living your life till it's run dry, lying on your death bed with no memories to save, when a pleasant drink and a nice smoke has sent you to an early grave

Dear brother I have never asked this much of you
Could you please just take my other and show them how much I care

Hiding under the blanket behind the chair
There's something that screams this seems so unfair
But were all gona feel better tommorow
And that's a feeling that you can only borrow
Just take a deep breathe
Take in the air of a lifelong nightmare

(We'll just have to learn to forget about this)
I would never last a day without you
But I'd do anything to take it back

We'll just have to learn to forget about this

I'm not changing my mind with the seasons
Cos winter has broken, and I'll be the first one, to lose my head

Tie me to a broken eyelid itched with razors
My dear brother is bound up in cages, and rages
Nothing will ever get worse than this right now
Because a deep breathe is out of reach somehow

We'll just have to learn to forget about this

I'm not changing my mind with the seasons
Cos winter has broken, and I'll be the first one, to lose my head

Because a list of difficult reasons
Just isn't enough for someone like me
For someone like me
Because I've never sold myself away to a sailor at sea

I'm not changing my mind with the seasons
Cos winter has broken, and I'll be the first one, to lose my head

I never had a single cigarette that I didn't enjoy
And all the dreams leave such a bitter taste on my tongue
Despite the smell of an old aged man, I'm young at heart
If I was to have just one more day, I'd make sure that I spent it without you

I think this song is about loving someone but not needing to change for them and they wont mind if you dont spend every waking moment with them.

The regret of smoking & drinking. As it has lead the person to an early death bed. Wishing they could maybe go back in time and change all they did to prevent having a the present life they now have !

The last verse is one of the best i have ever heard ! Love this band !

It is a song all about a mans life struggling through a nicotine and alcohol, and then him as an old man looking back with a hint of regret but not enough to make him want to change, and a love of his youth.

Clearly the theme of a new beginning/ new start is prevalent. I think that the possible meaning could be about the death bed of person how they had a difficult relationship with, perhaps a parent? , honestly ask the one who wrote the brilliant song with so many meanings!
