Longer than there've been fishes
In the ocean
Higher than any bird ever flew
Longer than there've been stars
Up in the heavens
I've been in love with you.
Stronger than any mountain cathedral
Truer than any tree ever grew
Deeper than any forest primeval
I am in love with you.
I'll bring fires in the winters
You'll send showers in the springs
We'll fly through the falls and summers
With love on our wings.
Through the years as the fire
Starts to mellow
Burning lines in the book of our lives
Though the binding cracks and the
Pages start to yellow
I'll be in love with you.

Longer than there've been fishes
In the ocean
Higher than any bird ever flew
Longer than there've been stars
Up in the heavens
I've been in love with you
I am in love with you...

Thirty four years ago this was my favorite song and also was playing in the delivery room as I gave birth to my first child, a beautiful baby boy. Even though this song seems more for a couple, I've always thought it as I will always love my son, through the years, ups n downs can refer to the binding cracking but no matter how much time goes by, pages start to yellow, I will always love him.

My version of the song has the trombone, because it sounds much better.

I don't really care about the trumpet that was recorded in the song.

I added a trombone solo to it, because it sounds much better than the trumpet which is heard. Actually it was a flugelhorn.

One of the most beautiful love songs ever written .. If reminds me a lot of the love my father had for my mother .. She died of cancer in 1991. My dad has moved on with his life but he still remembers her every day.. If she was alive today they woud been married for 47 years. Thanks dan rip for penning a classic..

He was a great man who gave us music.

    His memory is alive.

This song is awesome! I love it. In the 10-11 season this song was played on the radio.
