Halfway to crazy, not far from sane
Fuckin' sick and tired of all your games
All I ever wanted was you to take care of me
Honor thy mother and father too
But I know there ain't no way in hell that God mentioned you
All I ever wanted was you to care for me
Now I'm stuck in this hotel room, your grandson and me
Tomorrow we're gonna find out our destiny
All I ever wanted was you to be there for me
All I ever needed was you to be here for me [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/c/crystal_bowersox/farmers_daughter.html ]
This time is the last time you're gonna see us around
This was your last chance to prove you wouldn't let me down
So go on, get going and get away from here
All alone is how you're gonna spend the rest of your years
No farmer's daughter anymore, mommy dear.
Remember back in high school, my brothers and me
Willie put his head through the door to find clarity
You'd come home with bourbon breath, Jack in the air
And when you broke my bones I told the school I fell down the stairs
All I ever wanted was for you to be there for me
All I ever needed was for you to be here for me
This time is the last time you're gonna see us around
This was your last chance to prove you wouldn't let me down
So go on home, get going and get away from here
All alone is how you're gonna spend the rest of your years
No farmer's daughter anymore
I ain't no farmer's daughter anymore
No farmer's daughter anymore, mommy dear

There is only one analysis to this song... She just wanted a mother that cared about her children and life, instaed of a person seeking a bottle buzz.

No truer spirit... "f" and all... Crystal writs and expresses herself crystal clear... She was clear letting us know she was close to her father when on ai and now the rest is clear to us all... Sing on, oh wounded bird

This song means that a neglected child, has learned to find thier own way, hoever, misses the love they should have had.

First of all.. Who is anyone to judge crystal for her choice of words in a song about the life she had to deal with? Had she said "very sick and tired of all your games" or any other word, would the song really be the same? She is angry and when people are angry they say and do things that express their anger. For someone who has such an uplifting spirit and voice, a little anger does some good. Everyone stop judging!! Take the time to understand instead of judge. Peace to all.

I believe crystal and her brothers were abused terribly and that is so sad but i also believe that crystal is still in a lot of pain for this and is also carrying a lot of hate that she has not dealt with. I think she is trying though and it may take many years to get through it all. I also wish her the strength to forgive so that she may have peace in her heart. Its so much easier to love than carry all her hate and pain around. I wish her much success in her life on all the many roads will continue to go down. May your life one day be as clear as your name represents and you will truly shine rac from nc
