She is running
A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction
She is trying
But the canyon's ever widening
In the depths of her cold heart
So she sets out on another misadventure just to find
She's another two years older
And she's three more steps behind
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even knows she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
She is yearning
For shelter and affection
That she never found at home
She is searching
For a hero to ride in
To ride in and save the day
And in walks her prince charming
And he knows just what to say
Momentary lapse of reason
And she gives herself away
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even knows she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
If judgement looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Can't see past her scarlet letter
And we never even met her
If judgement looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Can't see past her scarlet letter
And we never even met her
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even knows she's going down today
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

this song is really kl and its got a real meanin to it im a music student so i can understand the lyrics but just incase somebody cant its about a girl who dosnt get the attention she wants at home so she goes to a night club has a drink with this guy goes back to his house and ...
then the morning after shes in the same outfit as she was when she left home the night before and goes to school and at school thats where she starts getting some strange looks from random people in the street that she has never even met and is being judged.
it aint fair really but thats just my opinion.
I feel this songs is about the very real problem of how many in the churches who feel they are on the "right" path can shun those who are not. Those who are troubled and alone are so very weak. So little is needed to give help to the hurting as a place to start. A kind smile of acknowledgement, a touch of the hand, a hi and how are you can be the seed that starts the hope growing. A simple gesture can make them feel they are not invisible and they matter. People who have made wrong decisions can feel that they are not good enough for the "church people" and when we don't reach out we just prove that point over and over again. Ask someone who hasn't placed their trust in The Lord and has made bad choices..
