Wake up lonely with you by my side.
One more night it doesn't feel,
There are movies playing in your eyes.
You dream of our fortunes, but you're wrong.
I don't belong to you.
The moon is the only friend I have outside.
One more drink, and I'll be healed.
I told you the words, and I knew it was a lie.
I wish I could offer an appeal.
You're wrong, I don't belong
But your wrong, I don't belong to you. [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/c/cary_brothers/belong.html ]
What I'd give for that first night when you were mine.
You were mine.
Tried with all that I have to keep you alive.
Alive.
Alive.
I wasn't taught this way,
With a thousand things to say.
I was born with a broken heart.
What I'd give for that first night when you were mine.
Thought you were mine.
So I'll put this cigarette to bed,
Pull some sheets from off you side.
I put my arm around you safe in the night.
Still dream of fortune, but you're wrong.
I don't belong.
You're wrong,
I don't belong.
You're wrong,
I don't belong.
To me this song means you are with the wrong person and you know you cannot leave them because you love them, but you have another in your heart you can never forget. That person that if you turned back time, you would chose them hands down. I'm getting married on may 19 and i love my wife very wrong, but i rushed into a our relationship and though i thought about another that was deeply in love with me before and still. I feel at times my wife looks at me like her only choice and i could never leave her because i love her, and i know the grass is fine on this side of the fence even if it could be greener elsewhere.
