Mind strong, Body strong
Try to find equilibrium
Head straight, screwed on
Been screwed up for too long
I don't want to lean on the waves
I watch the storm evaporate
I think of you in starry skies
I keep you so alive
Let's walk through the fire together
Disappear in the golden sands
It's all in your face
I see you break
It's like the sound of winter
The bleeding love, the silent escape
You've got to hang on to yourself
It's like the sound of winter
Medusa smiles, Judas lips
Open arms and finger tips
Love bites and recompense
I'll be with you until the end [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/b/bush/the_sound_of_winter.html ]
Let's walk through the fire together
Disappear in the golden sands
It's all in your face
I see you break
It's like the sound of winter
The bleeding love, the silent escape
You've got to hang on to yourself
It's all in your face
I see you break
It's like the sound of winter
The bleeding love, the silent escape
You've got to hang on to yourself
It's like the sound of winter
Hang on to yourself
Hang on to yourself
It's like the sound of winter
It's all in your face
I see you break
It's like the sound of winter
The bleeding love, the silent escape
You've got to hang on to yourself
It's like the sound of winter
It's like the sound of winter
He's talking about himself. This is an inner conversation. This is about traveling through life and not losing one's true self in the process. Clear references to meditation even in the title of the song. Mind strong, body strong. Clear buddhist principles. "medusa smiles, judas lips... " these are references to the falsities in life that can keep one from knowing the true self. That is, unless one trains the mind and the body to be strong. That is unless one practices the middle way: equilibrium. This is not about relationships between humans. It is about one's relationship with one's self as one walks through the fire (life) and into the golden sands (earthly materiality).

A troubled and ending relationship. Trying to recapture the passion they are torn, still wanting to leave. Love remains even while lies are still being told. Can they weather the storm and walk through the fire together? Can they hang onto themselves and each other as the waves crash and possibly destroy what is left?

Two screwed up little sinners who are so much alike that they forever have an intense bond.
