She wipes the tear from her brow
She's been cryin again
She's been walking into walls again
Behind her quivering smile, there's a secret
That goes deeper than the cuts she hides
Her head's spinning around
He bet her soul to the ground
A grown woman in pain
And all she longs to be, is that little girl, again
She screams inside, and all she wants to be
All she wants to be, is yesterdays child
She wants to hide, but she carnt runnaway,
To the safty, of yesterdays child [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/b/brian_mcfadden/walking_into_walls.html ]
Curled up shivering alone, she's been hurt again
She's been walking into walls again
Her children keep her alive
They're her sanity, but they're the reason why she has to stay
She screams inside, and all she wants to be
All she wants to be, is yesterdays child
She wants to hide, but she carnt runnaway,
To the safty, of yesterdays child
She screams inside, and all she wants to be
All she wants to be, is yesterdays child
She wants to hide, but she carnt runnaway,
To the safty, of yesterdays child
A grown woman in pain and all she longs to be is that little girl, again
I think this song is about domestic abuse. She wants to escape, to go back to how simple her life was when she was a child, so we get the impression that she is little more than a child herself, perhaps she married at a young age. She hates what is happening to her, but she lives in fear of her children getting hurt, so she will take it all to protect them, claiming that her injuries are because she's been walking into walls, and are therefore self inflicted.
