Brandi Carlile – The Story lyrics

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am

So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true... I was made for you

I climbed across the mountain tops
Swam all across the ocean blue
I crossed all the lines and I broke all the rules
But baby I broke them all for you
Oh because even when I was flat broke
You made me feel like a million bucks
You do and I was made for you

You see the smile that's on my mouth
It's hiding the words that don't come out
And all of my friends who think that I'm blessed
They don't know my head is a mess
No, they don't know who I really am
And they don't know what I've been through like you do
And I was made for you.

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true... I was made for you

Ohh yea it's true... That I was made for you

Yes the song words are so well thought out and are so meaningful, everyone who loves this song and loves music will find that this song is actually about them or so we think to a certain extent. But unlike many stories in life this song describes someone who has maybe had some hard times in their life but she still has someone in the end of the day, there are many people who don't have anyone besides a dog or a cat. Shame what about them and I'd like to see a song that's been written about someone like that and it still feels positive.

I absolutely love this song and can completely relate to this song! Love! This song is soo special to me!
To me, it's like, she has all these stories about the things she's been through in her life. But even through all the tough times, this person was there with her, and he loves her and knows all that she's been through. So even when everyone else is against her, he's still on her side because he understands her.
And she feels like if he can be with her through all that, then they must be made for each other.
It's such a beautiful song. It inspires me.

Lovely song. But it is funny for such a young girl with no lines on her face to sing it. I do have lines on my face and have lived for many decades. I have no idea how Brandi's audience can pretend to understand this song when their average age is 25. Let her sing it at age 50 and you will see some true emotion. The Story is about a journey, one she has just begun.

I don't care what kind of girl she is the song and it's meaning it's bigger than thaat I could tell yoou my friends that the song reminds me a person so special I couldn't live without him I love him and I know his is just a fantasy cause when I wake up I remember he'll never be mine. The song makes me cry cause in the inside I think that I was really made for him but maybe that's only my dream.
