Clock strikes twelve and moon drops burst
Out at you from their hiding place
Like acid and oil in a madman’s face
His reason tends to fly away
Like lesser birds on the four winds
Like silver scrims in May
And now the sands become a crust
Most of you have gone away

Come Susie dear, let’s take a walk
Just out there upon the beach

I know you’ll soon be married
And you’ll want to know where winds come from
Well it’s never said at all
On that map that Carrie reads
Behind the clock back there you know
At the Four Winds Bar

Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!

Four winds at the Four Winds Bar
Two doors bought and windows barred
One door to left to take you in
The other one just mirrors it

Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!

Hellish glare and inference
The other one’s a duplicate
The Queenly flux, eternal light
Or the light that never warms
Yes, the light that never, never warms
Or the light that never
Never warms
Never warms
Never warms

The clock strikes twelve and moondrops burst
Out at you from their hiding place
Miss Carrie nurse and Susie dear
Would find themselves at the Four Winds Bar

It’s the nexus of the crisis
And the origin of storms
Just the place to hopelessly
Encounter time and then came me

Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!

Call me Desdinova
Eternal light
These gravely digs of mine
Will surely prove a sight
And don’t forget my dog
Fixed and consequent

Mr. Unregistered above is right on one thing, this song is about astronomy but it is far more complex and layered than he suggests.
The song almost soothing with a certain comfort implied yet the next passage about the acid in a madman's face is a bold juxtaposition that clearly contrasts with the opening. And that use of antithesis is repeated throughout the poem both in the lyrics and in the music as well. With each comforting moment he offers, like the walk on the beach, he seems to counter it with a sense of impending doom whether in the words or in the dramatic music shifts and explosions. In the end he keeps the conflicting themes battling throughout the piece to produce an effect of harmonious balance.
The song is constructed on a foundation of metaphors, many dealing with heavenly bodies and there is plenty of star quality to go around.
References are made to celestial objects throughout the song: "The light that never warms" is the moon. "The Queenly flux" represents the constellation Cassiopeia. "My dog, fixed and consequent" is obviously a veiled reference to Sirius, a.k.a., the Dog Star. The "Four Winds Bar" may be a reference to the Tropic of Cancer, I'm not a hundred percent on that so don't quote me on it.
Our central character is named Destinova which has a celestial sound to it as well, like a super nova exploding, as it seems he is doing toward the end of the song. Yet throughout the piece he seems to be explaining to the innocent women he has chosen to target, his evil part or destiny (again part of his name) in the wider universe and his demented role right here on earth.
It's like the things that happen to us is a microcosm of the enormous galactic space we can't even possibly fathom.
