Once I had a love and it was a gas, soon turned out
Had a heart of glass.
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust.
Love's gone behind.

Once I had a love and it was divine.
Soon found out I was losing my mind.
It seemed like the real thing but I was so blind.
Mucho mistrust.
Love's gone behind.

In between "what I find is pleasing" and "I'm feeling fine",
Love is so confusing.
There's no peace of mind
If I fear I'm losing you.
It's just no good, you teasing like you do.

Once I had a love and it was a gas,
Soon turned out had a heart of glass.
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust.
Love's gone behind.

Lost inside adorable illusion and I cannot hide.
I'm the one you're using please don't push me aside.
We could make it cruising, ye-ah.

(La la la)(lalalalala)(la la la)(lalalala)(la la la)(lalalala)

Yeah, riding high on love's true bluish light
Ooh ooh ooh whoa (x4)

Once I had a love and it was a gas,
soon turned out, I had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Mucho mistrust.
Love's gone behind.
Ooh ooh ooh whoa (x4)

There used to be a girl who ran a hotdog cart on the lower east side. She had a pet goldfish. If her customers asked, she said she was an aspiring novelist. Once someone told her she was Joan of Arc reincarnated, but that guy didn't tip very well. So when he came back a week later, she spit in his hotdog as she was preparing it.

Lived it many times before. It's when you give it your all for the person you fall in love with and all that person does is use you as a stepping stone and play with your feelings. It gets to the point where you no longer trust no one. But you know you have no control who you fall in love with. So it's a dead end. It's the rule of life. You are trapped and you have to live with it or be alone for the rest of your life.

This is one of my favorite songs by Blondie...
I once had the her first album. But through the years of moving, it has disappeared. What a shame...
She writes what she feels and what has reflected in her life. Things I can relate to myself
