I think charlie is an ex of hers that has come back because he 'thinks he's made a grave mistake' and probably wants her back. But she'll never forget him, he made things so easy. 'sat down at the table, and for the last time' i think means that she's made up her mind; yes, he made things so easy, but he also made her so angry. She'll never forget him though.
