How could you know, how could you know?
That those were my eyes
Peepin' through the floor, it's like they know
It's like they know I'm looking from the outside
And creepin' to the door, it's like they know
And now they coming, yeah, now they coming
Out from the shadows
To take me to the court because they know
Gotta shut this down, 'cause they been watching all my windows
They gathered up the warrant 'cause they

[Hook]
You understand, I got a plan for us
I bet you didn't know that I was dangerous
It must be fate, I found a place for us
I bet you didn't know someone could love you this much

How could they know, how could they know
What I been thinking?
Like they're right inside my head because they know
Because they know, what I been hidin'
They're right under my bed, they're on patrol

Here they come, yeah here they come
Out of the shadows
To take me to the court because they know
Gotta shut this down, 'cause they been watching all my windows
They gathered up the warrant 'cause they

I've gotta get out of here
Sink down, into the dark

Keep on runnin'

And I've gotta get out of here, (keep on runnin')
Sink down, into the dark

You understand, I got a plan for us
I bet you didn't know that I was dangerous
It must be fate, I found a place for us
I bet you didn't know someone could love you this much

Nobody's listening when we're alone
Nobody's listening, there's nobody listening
No one can hear us when we're alone
No one can hear us, no, no one can hear us

I've gotta get out of here
Sink down, into the dark
Keep on runnin'
And I've gotta get out of here
Keep on runnin'
Sink down, into the dark

You understand, I got a plan for us
I bet you didn't know that I was dangerous
It must be fate, I found a place for us
I bet you didn't know someone could love you this much

I guess that I totally misinterpreted it then, because I thought it was about a stalker. It seemed like there was an overly possessive person stalking someone, which is why they are dangerous, and they seemed to be delusional, thinking that it's "fate" to be together. There is a lot mention of eyes and whatnot, which I just interpreted as the stalking as well as the pursuit of police, the the last line of the chorus reinforces the overwhelmingly one sided obsession. Also, the "warrant" seemed to make sense in that scenario. Maybe I've just been watching too much Criminal Minds.

Someone brought this song to my ap English Language course earlier this week, so we can interpret the lyrics. We were comparing to the George Orwell's novel, 1984. We were able to draw so many connections from the song to the book. If you read 1984, you basically have an idea of what my class was talking about. It reminds us of the two characters, Winston and Julia. I just listened to this song now on Chicago's Q101.1, and I forgot how addicting and awesome the song was.

I read (Wikipedia, admittedly) that this song was about the National Security Agency being to invasive. Which would make sense- "windows" clearly refers to internet browser windows, and any other things in to song about privacy being invaded would also make a lot of sense. It's possible the "nobody's listening when were alone" part is talking about refraining from internet usage.
