Please tell me what is takin' place,
'cause I can't seem to find a trace,
Guess it must have got erased somehow,
Probably 'cause I always forget,
Everytime someone tells me their name,
It's always gotta be the same.
(In my World)
Never wore cover-up,
Always beat the boys up,
Grew up in a five thousand population town,
Made my money by cutting grass,
Got fired by fried chicken ass,
All in a small town, Napanee.

You know I always stay up without sleepin',
And think to myself,
Where do I belong forever,
In whose arms, the time and place?

[Chorus:]
Can't help if I space in a daze,
My eyes tune out the other way,
I may switch off and go in a daydream,
In this head my thoughts are deep,
But sometimes I can't even speak,
Will someone be and not pretend? I'm off again in my World

I never spend less than an hour,
Washin' my hair in the shower,
It always takes five hours to make it straight,
So I'll braid it in a zillion braids,
Though it may take a friggin' day,
There's nothin' else better to do anyway.

When you're all alone in the lands of forever,
Lay under the milky way,
On and on it's getting too late out,
I'm not in love this time this night.

[Chorus:]
Can't help if I space in a daze,
My eyes tune out the other way,
I may switch off and go in a daydream,
In this head my thoughts are deep,
But sometimes I can't even speak,
Will someone be and not pretend? I'm off again in my World

(la la la la)

Take some time,
Mellow out,
Party up,
I don't fall down,
Don't get caught,
Sneak out of the house.

[Chorus:]
Can't help if I space in a daze,
My eyes tune out the other way,
I may switch off and go in a daydream,
In this head my thoughts are deep,
But sometimes I can't even speak,
Will someone be and not pretend? I'm off again in my World

Can't help if I space in a daze,
My eyes tune out the other way,
I may switch off and go in a daydream,
In this head my thoughts are deep,
But sometimes I can't even speak,
Will someone be and not pretend? I'm off again in my World

This song basicly describes her life before everything happens..(i think) Lol reminds me a little bit of myself...

Cant help if i space into daze
My eyes turn out the other way
I may switch off and go in a daydream

In this head my thoughts are deep
    Sometimes I cant even speak
wil someone be and not pretend?
Im off again in my world

    It's time for a word-for-word translation:
Can someone tell me what's going on? I'm totally clueless. I guess i zoned out again. I suppose that's to be expected; i can't even remember anybody's name! It always happens like that...
I remeber how i used to never try to hide myself, and i never had any desire to be in love, even though though i grew up in a decent-sized town. I was always too dreamy and easily distracted to get a decent job, and i was constsantly getting fired by all the jerks...
So why am i stuck in my own little world? That's something i think about all the time, late at night. Do i really belong anywhere? Is anyone meant to love me? When will the right moment come for me to know?
It's not my fault if i start looking dazed, and if i stare out into space i'm not looking at anything in particular. Be aware tnat i may start daydreaming and acting weird. In my head, i contemplate on things that are too complicated for words... I just wish someone other then me would be themself. It's back to my comforting little place that i call my world.
I never try to rush through simple activities like showering. I try to make them take longer than they should, i always pick the slower option. It's because there's nothing good or useful or meaningful to do after all, anyway.
When you're all alone in your own thoughts, your own mind, just dreaming under the stars... You start to realize... And one thing i realized: the more i grow up, the less time i have to fall in love. But how much do i really care?
    (the chorus)
It's okay to be alone for a while to calm yourself down. But after that, you need to get back up and out and try to get up without falling for life's tricks, like depression and romance. And the most important thing is, you can't let others destroy your happiness and send you back hiding in your shell.
    (then the chorus plays twice)

So there's my interpretation of the song (which was my former theme song; now it's "anything but ordinary"). I think to sum it up i could just say it's a smart, dreamy, indecisive, fun-loving, undefined person. Some themes that the song deals with are not falling in love, being yourself, thinking deeply, belonging, unuqueness...
I could go on forever. But that's the song to me.

good lyrics but the ong itself honestly blows and i compare her voice to that of miley cyrus... like she needs to take cough syrup or something(In this song anywho)
