Press play, fast forward
Non stop we have the beaten path before us
It was all there, in plain sight
Come on people, we have all seen the sunshine
We will never get back to
To the old school
To the old rounds, it's all about the newfound
We are the newborn, the one [...]
(We are here to stay)

We've come a long way since that day
And we will never look back, at the faded silhouette
[3x]

We've come a long way since that day
And when you never look back
(Never look [2x])

Press play, fast forward
Non stop we have the beaten path before us
It was all there, in plain sight
Come on people, we have all seen the sunshine
We will never get back to
To the old school
To the old rounds, it's all about the newfound
We are the newborn, the one [...]
(We are here to stay)

We've come a long way since that day
And we will never look back, at the faded silhouette
[3x]

We've come a long way since that day
And we will never look back
(Never look [2x])

Obviously it's true.. I concluded the same be4 reading your post.
When i heard this song 4 the first time i though it was about homosexuals, because it says: "its' all about the new found, we are the new born, the world knows all about us". It also says: "we are the future and were here to stay"

"they" talk about themselves as a "new race". I though about homosexuals but it wasn't clear 4 me.

Then, i saw the video and i confirmed my opinion. Look, it's the same guy. First as a guy, then as a girl. Look at the room, look at the bottles of alcohol, look at his/her cellphone, look at the bed (the same sheets). And look at the "girl's face".

Put attention in the party scene. U can see men's faces, but u can't see women's ones. In this party, all the "girls" are transexuals. (maybe not in the real life, but that's what they want you to think). All this girls are transexuals, and that's why the song is written in first person of plural (we, we, we... ).

This song is like a "victory anthem" that talks about their "independence". They have succeeded because almost all societies accept them in present times.

When you see the music video it's kinda clear. Basically this song is about transexuals, and how they won't look back at what they used to be because it's "faded" and that they'll suffer some hard ships (the beaten path) because of it. At the beginning he's seem taking hormonal pills and then going to a hospital, while a girl wakes up in his house. This girl is, in fact, the main guy we saw at the beginning of the video. She ends up flipping the picture of who she used to be over because it's a "faded silhouette" she then goes out partying and gets with a guy, if you honestly don't believe what i'm saying, then look at the girls face when she wakes up and the guy's at the beginning. They're the same c':
