Overview:
edward "teddy" daniels (leonardo dicaprio) and his newly assigned partner chuck go to the hospital for the criminally insane on “shutter island”. They are investigating the disappearance of rachel solando, a patient who apparently vanished from a locked room. Teddy daniels, has a history of violence and a drinking problem, a dead wife and kids. Teddy begins his story to the island on the eve of a storm that will isolate him for the duration of the investigation. From the very beginning, the audience’s expectations are that he is sane and the story goes on that he and his “partner” are trying to find out what really happened to rachel and finds a lot about the institution, things they thought were a scam, he thinks that the people operation the facility are drugging the patients or doing “surgeries” and it makes them go crazy so he tries to solve the mystery . Later on reality slips away as teddy grows simultaneously closer and further from uncovering the secrets of shutter island. The scene im going to show is near the end were teddy, after going into the lighthouse, is trying to fight that what the people are doing saying that they make people go crazy,and they are telling him basically that hes the one whos crazy and now teddy having a flash back or vision of his actuall life what really happened.

I want you guys to watch this scene once and pick out things like the emotion [ what kind of things gives away what the people are feeling . Ex music etc? ] also try to figure out what type of shots are used and how they are significant towards what’s happening.

First shot- the music is really scared feeling making you build up that something bad is about to happen.the costumes are also very old fashion and it mixes well with the setting like in an old cottage by the river. It’s also a long shot. Of her sitting on the chair, then it gets closer and flashes from him to her both walking towards one and other zooming into medium shots. Second shot- it zooms all the way into his face and then hers to a close up, as the camera is handheld and moves around their faces.1:59:50

The reality is that laeddis shot and killed his wife because she drowned their children and suffers a mental breakdown in which he becomes the persona named teddy.

Kim and her friend amanda go on a trip to pairs when they meet peter a charming young stranger. Peter learns that they are staying alone in amanda's cousins' apartment, and phones this information to someone. Later that day, while talking to bryan on her cell phone, kim sees amanda being abducted in another room. Bryan knows she is going to be taken as well, with this said he instructs her to shout out information about the kidnappers when they find her, and tapes the call. Afterward, bryan has no idea what the men want with her daughter, but with the little information he has he is set on finding his daughter and wont rest until she is home and safe.
