Andrew Belle – In My Veins lyrics

Nothin goes as planned.
Everything will break.
People say goodbye.
In their own special way
.
All that you rely on
And all that you can fake
Will leave you in the morning
But find you in the day

Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
Oh you're all I taste
At night inside of my mouth
Oh you run away
Cause I am not what you found
Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
.

Everything will change.
Nothin stays the same.
And nobody here's perfect.
Oh but everyones to blame
All that you rely on
And all that you can save
Will leave you in the morning
And find you in the day

Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
Oh you're all I taste
At night inside of my mouth
Oh you run away
Cause I am not what you found
Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out.

No I cannot get you out.
No I cannot get you.

Everything is dark.
It's more than you can take.
But you catch a glimpse of sun light.
Shinin, down on your face.

Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out
Oh you're all I taste
At night inside of my mouth
Oh you run away
Cause I am not what you found
Oh you're in my veins
And I cannot get you out

I love this song. To me, it's not so much about losing/leaving someone, as finding hope afterwards. I might be way off base with what I'm going to say next, but that's OK - the beauty of music is that a listener can interpret it in different ways, depending on life experience or current mood.

I think this song is also about two people coming back to each other. It's hard for me to hear this song without hearing two sides to the story. It's both of them that can't get the other out of their veins. They're a part of each other, and no matter how much things change, how hard life gets, or how hard the relationship gets, they'll keep coming back to each other. The last part "you catch a glimpse of sunlight/shining, shining down on your face" gives me hope that these two will realise that the love they have has survived all kinds of change, doubt ("oh you run away/cause I am not what you found") and devastation, and that because of that, there's hope that it might just work out after all.

That's just my two cents. Call me a romantic, but a song like this seems heartbreaking but hopeful and beautiful all at once.

To me this song means that if a personr eally inpacted your life, they will stay with you in some way, you will always remember them.
This song is for the girl who never told the guy she loved, that she loved him, so for the guy who never told her. The girl or guy that; et the other get away. The one you loved, and you saw, but were to scared and ran away, like the sick love story the movies fail to tell you about.

To me this song is about depression/ other mental illnesses. The "you" he is referring to is that illness. Like, its always apart of you and you may forget about it for a little but never for too long, its always gonna be there. It also touches on dealing with this mental illness, how it affects the person. At the end when he says "Everything is dark, it's more than you can take." he is referring to a person hitting rock bottom, reaching their breaking point, ready to give up, etc. The next line "But you catch a glimpse of sunshine shinning down on your face." means that the person found a way to pick themselves up again, to continue living. This song demonstrates that living in society with depression is not easy, but on a positive note I think it also touches on the fact that although this illness is painful, it's possible to life with it and maybe beat it, though no matter what it will always be a part of you.
I cried when I first heard this song, because I connected to it too closely in the ways I mentioned above, and I think it's a beautiful yet devastating reality of mental pain. At least that's what it means to me.
