Paperthin Hymn lyrics

Anberlin Paperthin Hymn lyrics

When your only friends are hotel rooms
Hands are distant lullabies
If I could turn around I would tonight

These roads never seemed so long
Since your paper heart stopped beating leaving me suddenly alone
Will daybreak ever come?

Who's gonna call on sunday morning?
Who's gonna drive you home?
I just want one more chance
To put my arms in fragile hands

I thought you said forever
Over and over
A sleepless night becomes bitter oblivion
These thoughts run through my head
Over and over
Complaints of violins become my only friends
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/anberlin/paperthin_hymn.html ]
August evenings
Bring solemn warnings
To remember to kiss the ones you love goodnight
You never know what temporal days may bring
So laugh, love, live free and sing
When life is in dischord
Praise ye the lord

Who's gonna call on sunday morning?
Who's gonna drive you home?
I just want one more chance
To put my arms in fragile hands

I thought you said forever
Over and over
The sleepless night becomes bitter oblivion
These thoughts run through my head
Over and over
Complaints of violins become my only friends, friends

I thought you said forever
Over and over

This sleepless night becomes bitter oblivion
These thoughts run through my head
Over and over
Complaints of violins become my only friends
I thought you said forever
Over and over
These thoughts run through my head

That 'someone' has found someone, and that other 'someone' couldnt be there, and was filling this 'someone' with empty promises...

Anberlin is an amazing band, period. Anyone who fails to see that has no good taste in music. Just sayin'.

This song means so much to me right now. I just lost my grandfather yesterday, and this morning after i woke up and realized that it had all been real, not just an awful nightmare, the first thing i did was get my ipod out and start listening to this song. It made me start crying so hard all over again - but it made me feel better, too, and because of that i think this will always be one of my favorite songs.

The song was most likely about the guitartist's sister, but he wanted to tell the listener: every once in our lives we meet that one friend of the opposite sex that we want to see forever. But when they leave this world, we can only remember that empty promise you made ( i will be your friend forever ) and all the beautiful things he or she said to you

I think that brendonuriesmyluv15 has one meaning. I think it could also be that the girl died. "since your paper heart stopped beating leaving me suddenly alone"
