The numbers on my wrist say I'm a cog in the machine,
And the sign above the front gate tells me "Work will set me free,"
I'm sleeping on this matress stained by men who died before,
There's a hole inside my broken heart and locks on all the doors,
GET CLEAN!
All together now, one, two three,
Don't be scared, just stand with me,
Hold my hand, try not to breathe,
All together now! [ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/a/anarchy_club/get_clean.html ]
I shovel dirt on bodies from a pile far too big to burn,
I recognize a childhood friend who tells me that my turn,
Is coming like the winter winds that chill me to the bone,
In chambers dance with screams and tears we still die alone,
GET CLEAN!
All together now, one, two three,
Don't be scared, just stand with me,
Hold my hand, try not to breathe,
All together now!
Single file,
Through the door...
Wall to wall,
Ceiling to floor...
I am not afraid to die,
I only wish that I knew why...
All together now, one, two three,
Don't be scared, just stand with me,
Hold my hand, try not to breathe,
All together now!
All together now, one, two three,
Don't be scared, just stand with me,
Hold my hand, try not to breathe,
All together now!
It has everything to do with the holocaust. Not only is the "work will set me free" line related to the holocasut, but the "get clean! " is often what the nazis would yell, because teh ywould tell the jews that it was a shower. Everything else also matches up with the holocaust, so you could defnitely say this is about it.
Is he talking about the holocaust? "work will set me free" means arbeit macht frei and that was over the jewish concrentration camps. The entire chorus seems like to be refering to gas chambers. The second verse would be refering to when the other prisoners had to bury the bodies of the ones that had been gased. Just my take... Maybe i'm wrong and this has nothing to do with the holocaust
