American Hi-Fi Flavor Of The Week lyrics

She paints her nails,
And she don't know,
He's got her best friend on the phone.
She'll wash her hair,
His dirty clothes,
Are all he gives to her.
And he's got posters on the wall, of all the girls he wished she was.
And he means everything to her.

Her boyfriend, he don't know, anything about her. He's too stoned. Nintendo. I wish that I could make her see,
She's just the flavor of the week.

It's Friday night and she's all alone. He's a million miles away. She's dressed to kill, but the tv's on, he's connected to the sound. And he's got pictures on the wall, of all the girls he's loved before, and she knows all his favorite songs.

Her boyfriend, he don't know, anything about her. He's too stoned. Nintendo. I wish that I could make her see, she's just the flavor of the week.
Yeah!

Her boyfriend, he don't know, anything about her. He's too stoned, he's too stoned, he's too stoned, he's too stoned.

Her boyfriend, he don't know, anything about her, he's too stoned. Nintendo. I wish I could make her see, she's just the flavor of the week. Yeah, she's the flavor of the week.

She makes me weak...

This song is about a situation many of us have been in before. We fall for a girl that's taken. And we see how badly the girl is treated. And how blind her love is. And you know, deep inside, that you could do better than him. That she deserves better. And yet you are forced to spectate. I'm there right now.

It concerns a girl who is unappreciated by her boyfriend. All he seems to care about is video games and recreational drug use, he calls her best friend on the phone, and he has pictures of girls he fantasizes about on his bedroom walls. Meanwhile, she does her best to be his girlfriend. The narrator of the song is upset that she can't see how bad the situation is. The very last line of the song says, "she makes me weak. " evidently, the narrator likes her as more than a friend, and it bothers him that she is mistreated.

I know this is an old song, but it's really cool. They were a one-hit wonder. But i think they're coming out with a new cd later this year.
