Adam Lambert – Outlaws Of Love lyrics
Oh, nowhere left to go.
Are we getting closer, closer?
No, all we know is no.
Nights are getting colder, colder.

Hey.
Tears all fall the same.
We all feel the pain
We can't change.

Everywhere we go
I'm lookin' for the sun.
Nowhere to grow old.
And always on the run.
They say we'll rot in hell
But I don't think we will
They've branded us enough
Outlaws of love.

Scars make us who we are
Hearts and homes are broken, broken.
Far, we could go so far
With our minds wide open, open.

Hey
Tears all fall the same
We all feel the rain
We can't change.

Everywhere we go
I'm lookin' for the sun.
Nowhere to grow old.
And always on the run.
They say we'll rot in hell
But I don't think we will
They've branded us enough
Outlaws of love.

Outlaws of love.

Out laws of love

The song is about what its like for gays/lesbians, they can't exactly walk down the street holding hands without being judged, the dirty looks and hateful slurs, or told they're going to hell, hence a lyrics: "they say we'll rot in hell... ", your always trying to escape labels. "hearts and homes are broken... " you tell your parents, and its pretty common they don't like it. Its not even legal is most parts of the world to get married. Same s** love is outlawed. Outlaws of love.

Adam lambert was blasted for not being who he truly was, and the "trespassing" album - he said it was going to reveal more about who he really is inside. The fact that he is willing to be open about the reality that glbt couples and the community feel is refreshing. Being branded outside of the norm of society is a kind of pain that can only be understood if you've experienced it. Lambert makes it clear that not only are hearts and homes broken because of misunderstanding, but that the belief that changing who one is isn't an option. The sense of abandonment is heartbreaking in itself without the endless rhetoric of how those in the g** community will experience hell on earth and the afterlife. If we are outlaws of love, it is because society doesn't understand the true meaning of love.
