The beatles always denied that the song was about lsd. What really happened was: John's son Julian brought home a picture of his friend/ crush and it was of her in the night sky and it inspired John. That was how the song originally started. But I'm not gonna lie, it seems like more than just a coincidence with the whole lsd thing. So I kinda think it evolved into a song about drugs, but it started as a song based on that picture.

This song actually does have a meaning that's kinda hard to understand, well I guess saying that "I am the Walrus" is kinda like saying that you are dead in some weird tribe language or something strange like that and they were pretending Paul was dead. On the cover of that album they showed the four of them walking down a street and Paul wasn't wearing shoes because they used to bury the dead with no shoes on. And, supposively, if you listen to the song backwards it says something like "paul is dead miss him miss him" but it's kind of mumbled and it's not the lyrics backwards that make that sound, it's the funny noise at 2: 00.
