Meaning
Personally I'm not a huge fan of this song; it's something I'll listen to but I won't buy it, and for me it's just not the Hedley I know and love. Based on reviews I've heard though, I don't think many people get the meaning behind the lyrics. I don't like them as much because I prefer the meaningful lyrics I can relate to, but I appreciate them for what they are. I believe the message in this song is, contrary to popular belief, not pro-American. They're not dropping their Canadian identity- they're creatively reinforcing it. The music style might be a bit of a sell-out, but the lyrics are satirizing American society, not glorifying it. They're criticizing how skin-deep the American dream of riches and fame is. The American dollar bill on the cover isn't "going American," it's there to remind us who the song is about. Canada's got class (;
