Ah, I've figured out that (duh maybe) this song is based on The Catcher in the Rye - not "about" it, mind you, but I believe "The Catcher..." and the themes thereof are being used metaphorically. It's been many years since I read the book, but I almost want to over again just to understand this (beautiful, emotive) song more! I think it certainly has to do with the creative process, and the feeling of needing to keep catching that ethereal thing any artist is always after. Well done, GLS - love it!
