To me this song is about how god gave up his only son and sent him to Earth. Jesus (God's son and the lord) was born from the Virgin Mary, she is also known as Marry. Some people refer to her in different ways. But anyways I think it's about how people are singing this song worshiping God and Jesus following the star to the manger were they find baby Jesus in his bed of hay. They sing bowing to the new born child as he is their king, the only son of god himself in living flesh right before them. They raise their hands singing still as the baby smiles soon growing up. He had worshipers everywhere. So many he couldn't count them all. Finally the day comes where he is hung onto a cross sacrificing his life for us all. Us being the foolish people we are today, judging people for being them self's and hurting people close to us. He cleaned us of all our sins and so we made this song praising him, the son of God, Marry and Joseph, we give him thanks, the thanks we hope he hears as we sing this song for him up in heaven with his holly father, God.

They are celebrating as Jesus had just been born into the harsh cold world. They sing in joy feeling blessed at his presence in the manger. They all are frozen, a warm feeling that not even love, happiness or anything can describe. They shout out loud singing this song for the lord's ( Jesus ) birth into the world. Thus the saying "Joy to the world" They are over joyed seeing the new born Jesus and the saying "The lord has come" It means that Jesus was just born into the world and they are celebrating for his birth.

In a one-horse open sleigh
It's like your laughing and smiling, the cold air hitting your burning bright red face. Your covered up in warm comfy cloths as your pulled by Santa's sleigh, you can hear the jingling of the bells on the reindeer's harnesses as they dash through the snow. You could care less about your surroundings as you hug close to the happy chuckling old jolly man in a red suit and a fluffy hat. You feel warm just being near, listening to all the winter birds hoot, seeing late geese fly by now noticing your off the ground, magic flying all around you. You can't stop smiling feeling warmth even if it's freezing cold.

Your tired and have nothing to do, you feel completely pathetic and are depressed about everything. Suddenly your friends pull up laughing and having fun, they smile wanting you to come with them to relax. At first you decline but only to find yourself being pulled up along with everyone, dancing and singing your heart out to the tune. You dance through the whole night, the stars dancing along with you, twinkling in their own special way. You soon wake up you feeling refreshed and new to it all. Your ready for another day.
