Really, a very beautiful song and moves the hearts and brings tears to the eys of everybody when it is sung or heard. Mohan is correct when he says that this song is a prayer in his school diary and that they sing it in the same rhythm. This prayer was originally sung by St Francis of Assisi, (1181/1182 - October 3, 1226), Italy and it is a very popular song in Catholic Churches during Mass and also in Catholic Schools. Now it is becoming popular more and more everywhere because of its rich contents and the music. A brief history of one of the web sites by franciscan-archive.
