It is about the continual quest of humanity to find meaning in existence, trying to fill that void. The interchanging perspectives capitalize on the fact that the human race, albeit transgressive, is still part of that divine oneness. Not quite unified, but still encompassed in the vast sanctity of the universe.

Refers to the self-destructive tendencies of humanity, and how surprisingly the path the human race has so far chosen has not as of yet led to oblivion. We as humans are the man who sold the world. We are absorbed in material, peddling it off and caching it, consequences be damned.
