Ms. Sutton opens this song (and the album) with words from her Bahai faith: "O SON OF BEING! Busy not thyself with this world, for with fire We test the gold, and with gold We test Our servants." "O SON OF THE SUPREME! To the eternal I call thee, yet thou dost seek that which perisheth. What hath made thee turn away from Our desire and seek thine own?" In the song itself, Ms. Sutton ends each verse with "If you believed...", deliberately omitting "in me." The belief is not in another person, but in the Divine. Without faith, the world is "as phony as it can be."
