My notebook will explain

Meaning
This song talks about a kid who kills himself because people bully him and he doesn't have any friends. I'm pretty tough, and this song even made me want to cry. In the end of the video, the guy kills himself by carbon monoxide asphyxiation. That means he breathed in the poisonous fumes from the car. I never did it, so I wouldn't know, but it would probably be painless. In an article featured in 'What Magazine', Ben Kowalewicz (lead singer) wrote that 'Nothing to Lose' was written after reading about an Ontario teen who killed himself after being bullied at school. Anyways,at a Billy Talent show, right before they played this song Ben was like "I want you guys to do something and I don't do this very often but everyone hold up your lighter or cell phone." and the whole place lit up just like that. It was so cool because it was all the blue from the cells mixed with the lighters. We were really far up so the whole crowd lit up below us. And he was all "No matter what happens your never ever, EVER alone. We got your back." Then he started to sing Nothing to Lose. My favourite part of the entire night even if I didn't like the song as much as I loved some of the others. And everyone kept their lighters and stuff up during the song and it was so cool. So basically I think Billy Talent made this song so people who were depressed or thinking of suicide would know they aren't alone and no matter what there will always be someone who cares about them even if they don't think anyone does. (sorry if I waffled on a bit XD)

Then I just died today
"And I just died today" part describes perfectly how you feel at the end of every day or it can mean the person killed themselves. That's what I think anyway.

Teacher said it's just a phase,
When I grow up, my children will probably do the same
"Teachers said it's just a phase, when I grow up my kids will probably do the same" is a reference to how people around you will justify it. Teacher's will say you are being over sensitive, parents will hope it just goes away, and the bullies parents will say that their kid would never do that.

"I'd have to check my mirror to see if I'm still here" is referring to the outside looking in feeling such as above (so I became lifeless just like my telephone). The days also never seem to change.

Na na-Na-Na na-Na-Na
this could mean the rebellioness (?) of the killjoys. And it is also typically a sound made by rebelling children. This means that the killjoy's and my chemical romance will go against societythey don't care about what people and the authority think and they will act like children if they want to and they will.

So get the choir boys around
Instead of playing the childhood game of ring around the roses they have 'matured' and seen their fair shares of deaths, injuries and tragedies so they play ring around the ambulance instead.

this means that he wanted to be remembered when he dies. But nobody ever listened to him. So its pointless even trying to be remembered, because everybody only cares for themselves.
