Okay I think it may be about the mother of the baby getting sold for slavery and the father being left behind (preobably disabled?) "everybody's gone to the cotton and the corn" corn and cotton are commonly in plantations in the south for slavery. She's long and gone with her red shoes on" is probably the shackles around her ankles thus refering to the red shoes and finally "come and lay your bones on the alabaster stones and be my everloving baby" is the baby dieing and the mother grieving and holding the baby in the last moments of life. Does the mother find the bebe? I dunno bt this is just my opinion! Xd.

This song is about the Armenian Genocide and how many people's lives were changed and how many of them have been killed, traumatized, and how many families were sperated and hurt. Soad want for people to know how they felt because most of thier parents were in the Genocide and how accuse the presidents of those genocides. And trying to haunt them and how the dead are accusing them of that! (Someone's blnk stare deemed it warfare).
