This song was Released by avenged Sevenfold for their drummer 'The Rev' (Jimmy Sullivan) who died from an OD on a drug. the song was made with so much emotion from the band, this was for two reasons. To emphasis how much they are going to miss him and how much they love him, also, to release all the emotions that were building up inside them. loosing someone you love is one of the toughest challenges in live and I believe they overcame this with this song. So Far Away can also be useful to people who have lost a loved one and are grieving as they can strongly connect to these lyrics. I know from experience that what I claim in this meaning is true as I have been through dark time much like loosing a closed loved one.

The meaning is quite simple really, its a song written with the theme of a teen who is feeling suicidal, songs like this are yes, depressing but for the people who feel suicidal and listen to them, it actually really helps. Its great that this song was made and that the artist includes a number to try and help prevent Suicide. For me as well it means a lot. I have a girlfriend that is in and out of icu for cutting:/ she is actually there right now and I have not heard anything from her in a week. So yes, the song means a lot.
