I have a very different explanation for this. I think that the "wolf" is a dominant male figure. Yea, it's a violent verse, but that doesn't necassarily mean it's an abusive relationship. Think about it like this. "I've captured you once, but I wasn't quite right" could mean I've been with you before but I cheated. This song could vary well be about mentally hurting someone as much as physically hurting someone. Hell, it could be both. Further along in the song, it says "But the rest of my pack I've left behind". This could mean all the player I hung out with I've abandoned for you. The wolf is a man who is a player, but decided to go after someone and he truly fell in love with her but it was too late. He already lost her and now he is trying to convince her that she will be safe and loved if only she would give him another chance to be what she needs to heal. That's my explanation for this song.
