Lady Gaga – Marry The Night lyrics
[Verse:]
I'm gonna marry the night
I won't give up on my life
I'm a warrior queen
Live passionately tonight

I'm gonna marry the dark
Gonna make love to the stark
I'm a soldier to my own emptiness
I am a winner

I'm gonna marry the night
I'm gonna marry the night
I'm gonna marry the night

[Chorus:]
I'm gonna marry the night
I'm not gonna cry anymore
I'm gonna marry the night
Leave nothing on these streets to explore

M-m-m-Marry m-m-m-marry m-m-m-marry the night
Oh m-m-marry m-m-m-marry m-m-m-marry the night

[Verse 2:]
I'm gonna lace up my boots
Throw on some leather and cruise
Down the streets that I love
In my fishnet gloves
I'm a sinner

Then I'll go down to the bar
But I won't cry anymore
I'll hold my whiskey up high
Kiss the bartender twice
I'm a loser

I'm gonna marry the night
I'm gonna marry the night

[Chorus:]
I'm gonna marry the night
I'm not gonna cry anymore
I'm gonna marry the night
Leave nothing on these streets to explore

M-m-m-marry m-m-m-marry m-m-m-marry the night
Oh m-m-marry m-m-m-marry m-m-m-marry the night

[Bridge:]
Nothing's too cool
To take me from you
New York is not just a tan that you'll never lose
Love is the new denim or black
Skeleton guns are wedding bells in the attic
Get Ginger ready climb to El Camino front
Won't poke holes in the seats with my heels cause that's
Where we make love

Come on and run
Turn the car on and run

[Chorus:]
I'm gonna marry the night
I'm gonna burn a hole in the road
I'm gonna marry the night
Leave nothin' on these streets to explode

M-m-m-marry m-m-m-marry m-m-m-marry the night
Oh m-m-marry m-m-m-marry m-m-m-marry the night
Oh m-m-marry m-m-m-marry m-m-m-marry the night

I'm gonna marry
Marry
I'm gonna marry
Marry
C'mon c'mon the night
The night

Lady gaga is a star in all definition of gods elect. The *night* is god, and the music in conjunction with the moonlight (gods well of heaven) speaks to her heart in such a way that shows what true love really is in all it's essence, which pales in comparison to momentary pleasures of "getting off ", thus, she Wont poke holes in the back seat of her car from having random s**, because alls she has to do is lay back, pop in the music (plug him in (ayo technology) and turn him on) and experience the true ecstasy of making love to The night- the world- the air-the wind-God; your father- open ur eyes people the kingdom of heaven is at hand- hurry before it's too late; gaga ur epic and I'm sorry for ever doubting ur new album! See you in the millennium! Lol.

The meaning of all of this is marrying the night and not giving up your dreams. Lady gaga was saying even when night fall may come she won't give up. In the video she was at the hospital because she was stabbed by her dreams. Once she went back home she got a call from the director saying that she didn't make it and she was rely angry. After all of the comotion she decided that she was going back to rebuild her dreams and start over again.

It does symbolize New York and her dedication to continue to embark on her never ending search for identity. The night is unknown. As each person plunges into the unknown, they deepen their identity. It has an "Our Town" theme, everyone has a life, purpose, and destination. Expression of yourself and embarking on the road of life to "find yourself" is Gaga's main message. New York taught her how to search for herself in the unknown "the night" and she is never giving up on that wait for the eternal part in her to come out clear as Thornton Wilder would say.

Come on people get real. If you've ever watched lady gaga's interview on ellen, then you should very well know that gaga strictly said that in her song "marry the night" it's about taking in all those bad things in life, night, darkness, (obviouisly they're not positive things like sunshine and daylight) so it's basically saying, don't take life as a negative thing! It's life! Things are supposed to happen, things are supposed to be bad! But as a whole it should be good if you stay positive. So I guess basically this song is saying, stay positive.

"the night" and "the dark" seem to have a connection and these two terms seem to be supported by "i'm a sinner". The song appear to be filled with bitterness and regret. So, now the first person want to fill her "own emptiness" with things that don't have much value. This becomes eminent with the progression from "i'm a winner", "i'm a sinner" to "i'm a loser". It is a sad song.

Marry the night meaning for me is,
To never give up on ourselves, that even if we.
Are at our lowest point. Life is worth holding on to, and by marrying the night is to give every ouch of what we are made of! No matter if nobody in the world believes in us we must not cry anymore because they can't stop us and we will be our own "power-source" and do everything we want as if it was our last night. And leave no, should have or could have.

Accept the inner you, with all your 'darkness', embrace those things that you yearn for, despite what others say, protect yourself by standing up for your personality and your freedom of expression. To 'marry the night' speaks towards a deep and meaningful bond with the secret lives, the warm intimate darkness, the excitement of life when the sun goes down.
The "nothing's too cool" section is a dialogue of passion with a lover, expressing her freedom of speech and feeling.

I believe is her way to get over anxiety, depression, panic attacks. She suffers of these disorders and me too, I definitely know what does it means. She says she's a "warrior queen" that doesn't want to give up, that she's a winner and that doesn't want to cry anymore but fight for resque. Look at the video, at the very beginning she's at the ospital, she needs help at the end she releases all the pain dancing like crazy! Great gaga, I love you, you're being my courage.

I think the real meaning of this song is so not inspirational. Read the lyrics. I wont say this song is bout satan but read where she says 'I'm gonna marry the dark, gonna make love to the stars. I'm a soldier of my own emptyness, I'm a warrior'. Just tell me, what normal person would want to marry the dark?. But I toootaly love lady gaga! The song too:)

I think there is a slightly deeper meaning to this song than "have fun and live your life to the fullest. " the video's intro is longer than the song itself (and it helps with deciphering the meaning, go watch it!). I think by "marry the night" she means to embrace all the bad experiences in her past and to continue to embrace them in her future; doing this will free her from them. The song has an element of masochism and destruction, which I think highlights her ultimate point: you should do what truly fulfills you personally, no matter how normal or how sick it appears to other people. In the video, she was an artist who fulfilled herself by passionately pursuing her utmost desire, art. She did this in ways that may seem crazy or destructive to many people, but that is completely irrelevant to her because she satisfied the main desire of her heart.

ı love lady gaga, that's why I listen to all songs of gaga. When I listen to marry the night at first time I continued to listen marry the night again and again. Gaga is unusual king of pop in the world, I would like to be singer like her, she doesn't stop if she doesn't carry out her aim. İt is called real singer, there are not all singers like gaga, and will not be like her.

Note that as soon as she learns the "dance", she gets an appointment with interscope records, at 4pm.
Interesting how the saying "the cross is my anchor" is written backwards and inversed in the video. The anchor is my cross, if I remember correctly. She is being pullled down to the depths, to hell basically.
She is stating pretty directly that she has sold her soul to the devil.
Interesting how madonna's half-time show at the superbowl also included masonic/illuminatii imagery. Coincidence? Who are they kidding? It looks great and mysterious, keeps us talking, and hey, it might even make sense!

Comon people, watch the official video. She explains it pretty clearly. Marrying the night? She had to give up all her values, what she stood for, all that mattered, basically get a lobotomy (like all the girls that are with her in the psych ward), in order to become a success and get records deals. The video shows her giving up on ballet (reps true art) in order to learn to street dance and do the "popular" thing that sells records.
There probably is also the double-entendre that she had to sell her soul to the dark side, and yes, all the intentional symbolism of the masons and illuminatii only serve to reinforce this, . And keep us talking. So I'm probably just falling for the trap. But not as much as 99% of you fools. It most certainly doesn't just stand for having a good time at a late-night party. Sheesh.

These lyrics are incorrect! I found multiple errors while checking them on what gaga wrote herself in her audiobook. It's gonna make love to the stark. Then i'll go down to the bar. Skeleton guns are wedding bells in the attic get ginger ready climb to el camino front. Come on and run turn the car on and run. (last chorus only) leave nothing on these streets to explode. /there's no "come on come on" part it's/ th-th-the night.

In satanic rituals there is always a blonde girl in a white dress who 'marries' satan (the darkness, the 'night') lady ga is a member of the illuminati, which worships satan. Satan was the minister of music. The illuminati owns all the major media in the world. She is their main puppet at this time. She grew up in a masonic temple (illuminati) in ny. She has been groomed for this all her life. She is saying that she has married satan. (the dark side) she says 'i am a sinner' all of her videos are filled w satanic symbols and hidden subliminal messages. Wake up people! She is satan's bride! And she wants to take all down with her!

This song is about when. Lady gaga finally hit her low point in her life- when she was dropped from her label and when she was struggling with drugs and darkness in her life- and she decided to pick herself up and try harder. She decided that she would be married to what she loved: music. It has nothing to do with the devil or brainwashing the youth or anything like that. It's a message to her fans to never give up and fight for what they believe in and for what they want in life. This song and lady gaga are absolutely inspiring and beautiful. Yes the song is different and has a dark feeling to it, but lady gaga doesn't see the world the way most people do. She's a queen for all of the people that haven't seen the world normally. And I absolutely love her for that.

I am an iraqi veteran and I welled up when I read the lyrics. It totally speaks to the spirit I carried after I returned to the states. The part where lady gaga sing about new york I replaced with the" war" in iraq. I really love this song because it gives me the "ok" to feel like I feel since I had returned from iraq. My daughter loves you too, lady gaga! The fuller fam fan.

Gaga said in an interview that she wrote the song about the struggle of starting over. She had just failed her first attempt at fame and she had to decide whether or not she had the strength and the power of will to do it all over again. She had a mental breakdown. So in the song she sings about marrying the night as in marrying all the bad things in her life and accepting them as a part of her that she can't get rid off and has to fight to live with. Personally I couldn't be more happy that she decided to go for it once again.

To me, it means that she might be contemplating suicide and makes a choice to live. She says that she is not going to cry anymore. She is going to push herself to go out and try to live again, even though she knows that the choices that she is making while living are not the right choices (drinking and sex). She acknowledges that she is a sinner. When I first heard the song, I thought that she was saying "mama mary" as if she were in prayer.

The meaning of marry the night is basically when you sleep at night you dream! So when you marry the night you marry your dreams! Marrying your dreams is sticking with your dreams as long as you live regardless of what people say or do. Never give up on something you know you can do just because someone says you can't! Everyone goes through the toughest of times and may want to give up but if you believe you can and you want it more than anything in the world marry the night and don't give up on your life your a warrior! Live passionately! Your a soldier to your own emptiness! You are a winner! Marry the night!

This song is close to my heart because I have learned through struggles and hard times in life, to accept those things and become a stronger person because of them. And this is what this song is talking about. When you're down to the worst of the worst, still hold your head up and tell yourself that you can make it out of this alive. You are so much more than what the world tells you, that you aren't. Take everything that is wrong in your life and turn it around and make it something beautiful. That's exactly what lady gaga did. I love you lady gaga, at first I didn't completely understand you or what you were trying to do, but now I have so much respect for you. You trully are doing something great weather or not the whole world see's it. The ones that need are the ones that see it. :)

I think the meaning of "marry the night" is that the people in life who hate themselves or have given up, or constantly have people tearing them down everyday. People who start to beleive the nasty things others say about themselves. But in the night, when they're all alone, they can truly be who the truly are. In the night, it feels like its almost not reality. In the night, they can become the fantasy they've always dreamed of. So "marry the night" means to become the person you truly want to be.

It's about freedom. I love lady gaga, and this song is like an angel/monster sent from her because it totally reflects who I am. Long live gaga, long live the monsters! She's one heck of a songwriter and it's about doing what you like best. She's one of the most amazing people I have ever known. Favorite song so far, I can't wait to hear more of her future songs.

When I see passionately in the lyrics it means to me that she is able to be free and being herself. And when I see more lyrics in this song saying kiss the bartender twice to me personally I think she wants her a whole new life and keeping her music career and finding her mr right. And where it says I'm not gonna cry anymore proves that she can't cry at all she has to stay strong and do even more amazing sons for all of us crazy gaga fans. Because she is the most amazing son artist in pop music we love gaga.

    Read an interview people!
Germanota has said that this is her most autobiographical song/video to date. It's "part of the story i never told you. "
Germanota was dropped by her first label before being picked up by interscope. From the prelude a pathetique we can surmise that she may of have also had an abortion or some other surgery given the nurse's comment "no intimacy for two weeks. "
In part it's about her journey of discovery and everything she went through during that time.
I'm expecting her to provide us with another part of this story later.
The most important thing I think (or at least hope) for gaga and everyone is that we take away a meaning that helps us. Gather from the song what you will, the great thing about music is that we can all find a different meaning in the best songs.

This song means alot to me. Sometimes when I hear this song I propose to the night sky. By running into my flowery garden I leap into the thorn patch and roll around alot. Then I get up and inbed myself deep in the flowers and then I smell gorgeous. Then I run even faster back inside. Sit on my 4ft dog who I ride to the shops where I buy amagazine about lady gaga and then I sleep with it in my dogs bed.

It sound to me like it's about going through a break up or an ending to some relationship. But it also sounds like she shouldn't give up and it's not everything if it didn't work out. Marrying the night just means (to me anyway)to just let go and move on and have the best night out with the girls and getting to get over the blues and get over the guy for good.

I am a sinner, and that's a fact which can't be changed. I'm going to the dark, enveloped by the darkness. I will gain my freedom, putting away all the problems I have faced, the pain the numb of my hearts, all tears, loneliness. I will reborn as a new person by marrying the night. Not caring what others are saying. I will built from nothing, i'll show them even if I have to go dark. Marrying the night. Well, I think that's what she wanna say.

I don't know who rules gagapedia but what I know is that some of gaga's songs are too emocional as to have just one single meaning. Her songs are as complicated and deep as she is so don't tell us where to look up or what to think because this is exactly what gaga is against: people who think that knows everything. Little monsters explore the streets and marry the night to find your own way through life!

Lyrics are about gaga's love of the night and partying, while serving as a homage to her hometown. The song received mostly positive reviews from critics. Reviewers also found influences of italian disco music producer giorgio moroder and american rock musician bruce springsteen in the song. After the release of born this way, "marry the night" charted in some nations due to digital sales from the parent album. The song debuted at 79 on the us billboard hot 100 and entered the canadian hot 100 at 91. It also charted in the walloon region of belgium, south korea and the united kingdom.

We people have stablished that "night" is strongly related to the dark side, witchcraft, satanism and all that kind of things. That's what men have stablished. "marry the night" has nothing to do with the devil, I am pretty much sure the song is about going out at night, having fun, clubbing, hanging out with friends and all those kinda thing we enjoy when it's party time. : d I love you gaga!

Second thought. "marry the night" sounds almost too streetwalker lingo. I will give you an example: "i'm going to marry the nite and i'm not going to cry anymore. I'm going to marry the nite, leave nothing on the street to explore... " get your engine ready cuz I'm coming out front, won't poke holes in the seat with my heels, cause that's where we make love. " even gaga stated she was going to use this song as the single but she thought it was too powerful. Hhhmmm.

This is gagas story of her journey to becoming who she is now as an artist and as a person. This song is about her reinventing herself after all her struggles in her life. Also it seems trolls of the internet have nothing better than to speak trash about this beautiful song with such meaning. And to those very religious trolls that say she speaks of being a sinner proudly I suggest you reevaluate your. Religion she owns up to being a sinner which everyone is right? This song is the story of a music icon of our time and as such will have people critizicing it. The song is amazing and I'm honored lady gaga loved her fans enough to tell us her story. She embraced her night and grew as a person from it.

The night represents evil. The bible states that jesus is the light of the world and "darkness" comprehended it not, mean the darkness cannot. In the last part of the 1st verse she states that she will marry the dark capital D. The dark represents satan. You will notice after ma stuff she blatantly / proudly boasts that she is a sinner. She is a spokes person for satan, take heed what you allow in your ears.

In the prelude of the music video, it shows what she felt after turned down by the record company named as "defjam," in which her farewell present was gummi bears. That was until interscope records took her and recorded the song "marry the night," which was also going to make by defjam until that director. The meaning of the song is that she can handle everything even if she has to lose everything.

This is a portrait of the artist or any other kind of person who is young and questing. It's about being in one's body and being in one's soul, and the desire to plunge into the world, but not just be a traveler--to "make love to the stars," find union with something so big it can't be contained in one person, or one place, or even one time. No, you want to marry the whole goddamn beautiful seething dark night.

Be honest this song is about prostitution especially when relating to the video. And her quote "i did what any girl would do" and that reference to blow job. And her song about s** in the car with married men. She'll be waiting out front. Leave nothing on the street to explore. And put on some leather and cruise?
There was a meaning where marrying the night is another term for getting into prostitution. Nightwalkers used to be the term for prostitutes.
    Prostitutes cruise for tricks (client).

I think this song refers to wanting to be famous and getting caught up in the party lifestyle that prevails during the night and into the early hours of he morning. You start off normally and end up a mess with issues and get caught up in drugs and drinking and depression and wind up loosing yourself and your dreams and crossing the line. The journey is bittersweet. So much fun and excitement in the night yet eventually it can take a toll on you and your sanity.

This song is about lady marry, the first female night. She was good with a sword but mostly just slept with all of the other nights in exchange for protection. Eventually she became pregnant and the horses would protest whenever she tried to ride them, so she decided to become murray the night's wife instead. This used to be a very popular story but in the 70s, feminists destroyed all record of marry the night because she betrayed their cause by choosing to be a wife and mother instead of a real night.

No Randomness. Time for clarity. The Night of Life's day is death. To Marry the Night is to accept your one true fate and death is the consummation of that marriage. Once you accept that the road of life will have you burn a hole (6 feet under by flame and fire - as alluded to in edge of glory), you come to accept that nothing is too 'cool' to keep you from. You work the rest out. This album is not in any way cryptic once you work things out. Live love leave.

I understand from this song that this person has been kicked to the ground many times but wont give up on all the good things that life can bring, taking on challenges, and explore all these things life offers. Basically saying it's okay if other people think she is a loser coz of the things she explores because she will have life to look back on! Not being just one in the crowd.
