Foo Fighters – These Days lyrics
One of these days, the ground will drop out from beneath your feet.
One of these days, your heart will stop and play it's final beat.

One of these days, the clocks will stop and time won't mean a thing.
One of these days, their bombs will drop and silence everything.

But it's alright.
Yeah it's alright.
I said it's alright.

Easy for you to say.
Your heart has never been broken.
Your pride has never been stolen.
Not yet, not yet.
One of these days.
I bet your heart'll be broken.
I bet your pride'll be stolen.
I'll bet, I'll bet, I'll bet, I'll bet.
One of these days.
One of these days.

One of these days, your eyes will close and pain will disappear.
One of these days, you will forget to hope and learn to fear.

But it's alright.
Yeah it's alright.
I said it's alright.
Yeah it's alright.

Don't say it's alright.
Don't say it's alright.
Don't say it's alright.

One of these days your heart will stop and play it's final beat.
But it's alright.

One of these days.

The origin of "these days" is a very interesting and funny story.
It's about a stoner still on an acid high going to the grocery store to get some munchies. They happen to be out of his favorite cereal, king vitaman", and being a spoiled rock star, he screamed threats and promises of future curses (such as the earth opening up to swallow him, the manager, and every lowly damn employee who ever worked there. They had to call the police. In the end, it was a good time had by all!

"These Days" is a song about the end times. Yes the Bible and how Jesus Christ will come to judge the world for its many sins. Those who are saved and redeemed have nothing to fear, for their hearts and souls have been saved by Mercy and Grace. Those who are not will face the unbearable consequences of eternal separation from God and pay according for all their sins they committed. But like the Bible says "it's not God's desire for anyone to perish, but for all to repent and be saved." Try searching deep when the lyrics ask "easy for you to say." Those people have no fear of the afterlife because they have been saved. Time is running out so get serious and cry out to God every moment in your life in the name of His son Jesus and begged for Mercy and Grace. The great and terrible Day of The Lord is coming, don't be a fool.

Interesting lyrics, very depressing though. The writer doesn't seem to have any hope in their live. The words don't really make sense neither. One minute they are singer one day everything will come to an end, the next but it will be all right, then easy for you to say. They are depressing words that have no hope and if anyone has hope they are wishing that they don't. Probably one of the saddest songs I've heard. More importantly its really sad that anyone would write them and have these terrible feelings.

I believe this is a conversation between young and old. The old telling the young "one of these days....." And the young answering back that they still have a life to live. "My hearts never been broken, not yet, not yet ", I see this as a positive song about not playing it safe, go out, get hurt, live a life. Because one of these, it will all stop.
