This song is about him being a player like his dad because ever since he was a young kid, his dad would sleep around. He meets this girl whom he has sex with just for the fun of it but the girl becomes attached to him trying to build up a love relationship...what he thought of a simple game, haunts him since now he must let the girl know and leave her. He feels that he's a player and must get rid of the girl, but unfortunately, he has to break her heart in the process. |

I forgot to mention that I absolutely love this song...and if you really think about it, the phrase "nothing lasts forever" is so meaningful since it is true of many things in life, everything dies eventually, i.e. a human beings, plants, a car, etc., even if it doesn't dies completely, it deteriotes eventually...In life, nothing can remain the same, even if it takes years to get to that stage...like sex, for example...eventually, our bodies don't allow us to continue having it. |

Past experiences may lead people to believe that love doesn't exist...when one encounters that person they love, many times, that other person may not feel the same love towards you, therefore, it becomes complicated. The guy is saying that he loves this woman but is not sure that she loves him back perhaps because he can tell the differences in her behavior. He is being more or less pessimistic in a way, thinking that usually in a relationship, one person loves and other one doesn't and moves on...but he's giving the girl the chance to think about it and perhaps she would come back to him, realizing that she loves him back but in the end, she dies, symbolizing that the girl doesn't feel the same way towards him. |
