A hard, painful song about shooting heroin; the slim, slow slider is the syringe, as well as the girl he's singing to. " Horse you ride is white as snow" And at the end, the whole thing just falls into chaos and noise. What a great album Astral Weeks is! Still, after 45 years!

Another song about "making love". This one's got a real New Orleans feel to it, and lyrically, it's about as plain and explicit as it can be, while being not at all vulgar. Like these samples: . And I'm looking at you, looking at me, looking right back at you. I want you to come to me, come to me now; I know where I came from and how, when I feel you inside. I want to take you where flamingos fly. See what I mean? Go watch a video of a flock of flamingos taking off, ideally in slo-mo; for ones with eyes to see and ears to hear, it's pretty obvious what he's thinkng and singing about.

Jaunty little tune foreshadowing the first great psychedelic wave which "fed the head" of the worldwide Babyboomer youth movement. And the hero's quest, too, is all there: the erotically frustrated youth, the exotic old wise woman with the mysterious potion, the blinding freedom of expressing universal love, the rude slapdown by the enforcer of societal norms. And, it's got a good beat, and you can dance to it! Now, that's the kind of art I dig!
