The author is talking about love in this song and he is basically saying that when it's just you and the other person that you love then it makes it feel like you two are the only people in the world and you both love each other so much that it's hard for both of you to express your love for each other. One example of how I know that the author is trying to say that it's hard for each of you to express your love for each other would be in the first stanza when it says "just me and you and the man on the moon". That's how I know that the theme is when you love each other it makes you feel like you're the only two people on the earth.

He is trying to say that it is just the two of them and there is nobody else driving so it makes it seem like it is just those two and since there is nobody else he says the man on the moon is there too.

He's trying to say that it's just him and girl but there is a full moon out so he says it is just the two of them and the man on the moon. he also is trying to say that there is absolutely nobody else with them or out so he just says those two and the man on the moon.
