I was inspired by the coffee from our local coffee roaster and my friend Jay who drinks nothing but coffee. I have known others like him who have a passion for the very best coffee, fresh, hot and so strong that you can chew it. There was a time in my early career when I was playing coffee houses where I was often paid in lattes and tips. It was when and where I developed my people skills and a love of really good coffee. It is an art to foam the milk just right. So, it is not just Jay's strange and perfectly understandable obsession that inspired this song. I love coffee. First thing in the morning, the thought of this amazing bean brew can compel me to get out of bed on a cold morning. The jazzy style supports the theme. Coffee makes me happy - mmmmm Hot Coffee with perfect foam.

Even a small step toward the desired destination is in the right direction. Ghandi's famous quote along with the desperation of so many who ask me what they can do inspired this song. I can not do everything. I do not go to marches and get arrested. I do not do politics. I am a songwriter and like to make videos and post them on You Tube. I am a writer. Graphic arts is another thing I enjoy. We are good at the things we enjoy. These are the things I can do to change my world. I work locally to create change globally and focus on my local community by eating foods grown and produced locally. I get my clothes at thrift stores, make my own yogurt and summer wine and rarely drive. I never use pesticides and eat nearly all organic foods. This is my contribution toward my desire of a healthful sustainable world. My small act of living my life is a vote against factory farms, gmos, chemical and pharmaceutical corporations and oil companies. I am healthy and fit, have not been to a medical doctor for many years and do not have or want insurance. I live within my means and studiously keep my income low enough to not pay taxes, although, just like corporations, I donate and invest in ways that can be deducted. In this way, my money does not go to drones or Geoengineering or gmo corn subsidies. These things I do, as a way of living, are my way to be the change I desire. I hope to inspire and encourage others to do what they can as an action of love. Doing what one enjoys can create and accomplish positive change in the world.

I wrote this song in the car as I left a church service where I had performed. I saw a man put a woman in her place and dismiss her concern that the chemtrails had been particularly heavy and the fallout was making her sick. He sternly told her that if she would just be in the 5th Demension she could dissolve chemtrails with her mind. I thought afterwards, well, then, do it! Dissolve them. Heal the world! This man, and too many others, say nothing helpful, do nothing empowering, criticize and dismiss. They attack the activists and say nothing to the perpetrators. I do believe in the power of thought, but thought with action. I do believe in love, but active love. It is time now to actively work, not to treat just the symptoms, but to reveal and heal the cause. Get up. Get out. Get busy. It is time.

In June 2013, the stage set up for me was in the grassy field of an artist who creates amazing sculptures from junk and found objects. In his home everywhere I looked there was whimsy and color, uplifting words emblazoned on tapestries and uplifting quotes. Rudy, in his wild colorful attire with long brown hair and bright intelligent eyes was the inspiration for this song. He is certain that there will be a revolution and we will have to create a sustainable organic community to survive. He is getting ready by building small cabins on his land and creating relationship with others of like-mind. In this song, I wrote that we can start today by living well, creating ways to thrive in the future - to "future-thrive". These are dangerous plans in this time where even buying raw milk can bring an fda swat team to your home in the early morning hours and you can be fined for taking out your lawn and growing food. Those of us who have been here since the 1960s have seen the evolution of revolution and believe this is a thought that's time has come. There are individuals like Rudy all over this planet. They are wise and wonderful.

$17 million for a single drone. $60, 000 for a single missile. An ever growing "Kill List" of and by our President against all that is moral. I did not say my tax dollars should be used for such wrong. I wrote this song after reading a comment by a South African man who wrote: " Why don't the Americans do something?!" I need for him, and everybody to know, that I, an American, am doing all I can. I am working to inform the uninformed and misinformed that this is happening and it must stop. There will come a time when the countries that our President is attacking - the innocent people he is torturing - will have drones of their own, and just like our Leader, their Leader will give the order to some teenager to push a button. The song asks the question: "If you do survive, do you want to survive with so little else alive? " Power and pride can be healthy things. In the case of those running our United States of America, power and pride are at the other extreme: sickness and disease. The drones are a tool used to carry out the whims of wrong thinking.

"One Mind" is to be certain - undivided and sure. It occurred to me, as I wrote this song, that if the people would stand together, undivided and certain, this non-sense that is destroying all we hold dear would cease. We are not divided on the basic principles. These shared desires can be found in our American Bill Of Rights. These same basic things are found in the major faiths and in all countries and villages. We all know what they are, because they bring us health and peace of mind. We diverge on how to get these things done. There is more than one way to clean a room or sail a sea. All ways to accomplish have a place. They are different ways to be mind-full and still be of "One Mind".

I wrote this song after I signed up for Netflix and saw my first documentary on gmos, then one insane corporate endeavor after another - all destroying my water, my forests, my air. Chemtrails in my skies spreading out and mucking the blue away. So, much that is wrong. About the same time I went through a civil law suit that took two years and nearly all of my money to endure. I represented myself, often working over 40 hours a week to meet the demands of opposing counsel and won the suit. Two weeks after I won, in a judgement authored by the prosecutor and signed by the judge, I was found guilty of a technicality out of context that I was not allowed to speak to and had to pay all of the legal fees from the beginning. I had kept excellent records and had shown conclusively that the plaintiff was lying. My brother, the plaintiff, received only $10, 000 more than he would have received anyway, but I had to pay all of his legal fees - on a technicality on an amended judgement. Until then, I was a proud American who believed in our legal system, that if you lived lawfully and honestly, you had nothing to fear from the law. I now agree with one of the three attorneys I had worked with: the law is broken. When Occupy came to my attention, I was excited and enthusiastic. I believe in the people and that we are part of a world community that includes Nature and all it's diverse creation. I can not lie down and do nothing. I choose to stand.
