I can see how one may interpret the lyrics to him doubting his faith, but I respectfully disagree. Aild's lyrics are taken from Ecclesiastes which expresses the frailty and depravity of all things of this world. Basically it says that nothing matters but the things of God. This song is (in my opinion) dealing with the struggle between things of this world and things of God. The Bible says "friendship with the world is enmity with God". I believe that when he says that "We speak of fighting to resist this world" he is talking about what a Christian should want to do. And when referring to the "battle within us" I think he's talking about his struggles. (desire for worldly things, doubting of faith, basically being nothing apart from God due to the flawed nature of man). Later he details that there is no difference between us(Christians) and them(those who aren't Christians) if we blindly seek truth from sentiments. I believe sentiments are referring to worldly things, that will never satisfy the God-shaped whole in man's heart. I am a Christian, so that is my point of view on it.

Irockths. I'm sorry, but you've come in contact with the wrong type of Christian. Also, how does fox news relate to any of this. Keep political views out of this. Aild is far from a politically charged band, they don't "take on the media" or people they don't like through their lyrics. And despite what you are led to believe, aild is a band of Christians, not necessarily a Christian band. Tim Lambesis, the lead singer said he doesn't want a preachy approach but says "If you truly believe something, then it should effect every area of your life". He says most songs are about life's struggles but that all are written from his perspective as a Christian. Due to your lack of knowledge in the aforementioned areas, I would assume that you don't know that depravity is a huge point in Christianity and that this song is dealing with the depravity of man away from God. But I assume taking depth out of a song is far above your mental capacity. But it's okay, I just did it for you. If you don't like Christian music, don't listen. There's plenty of hopeless headbangers out there. So happy hunting.
