I watched a video interview with David Draiman just after the single was released ad he talked about how the word Asylum is a double meaning- how it's a place full of insanity, but how it's also a safe place that he felt kind of thrust into by his own grief as a coping mechanism. Definitely an extremely powerful song, and I can relate to it after the suicide of a close friend who I had feelings for.
