Mother's tired she needs a rest
By using this line in the song madness have shown how hard it is for good hardworking mothers to get through the day. It says that she needs a rest because she is always doing something, either for either her husband or one of her children. Obviously she is happy to take care for them but it is more than likely a struggle because she does it all on her own. She probably doesn't get much thanks from her family either.
